The purpose of journaling is to help you reflect back on your week and see how God influenced you life as you lived through your day to day struggles. It also gives me the opportunity to see who you are as a person, rather than as a student.
So, this is what I want.
A full page (yes, a full page) telling me about your week. It can be a description of one experience, several experiences, struggles you are dealing with in your life, fears you have, great things that are going on, lessons God is teaching you, a combination of any or all of the above, and the list goes on.
~~Important: None of the things you share will ever be discussed with anyone else or discussed in class. I consider these journals to be between you and I. The only time they would ever be shared is if there was anything life threatening mentioned (i.e. suicide thoughts, abuse, etc.)
How do I grade these things?
To get an "A"
~you must have a full page
~you must write in a comprehensive manner (it's gotta make sense and
follow a line of thought)
~you must include how God was at work, what God taught you, etc.

God is involved in all areas of our lives, so everything that has

happened in your week can be related to God and His working.
To get a "B"
~same as above, but not showing how God was at work
To get a "C"
~not a full page
~random thoughts written
To get a "D"
~who the heck wants a stinkin' "D"?
